4 Facts You Must Believe to Be
Ready to Meet Jesus
Fact #1
There Is A Judgment Day
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."
~ Hebrews 9:27
According to the Bible, a day will come when every human soul stands before his Creator. The book of Revelation tells us that the Judge will open the record books and sentence punishment for every crime committed. The guilty will be eternally punished in the lake of fire. The innocent will live with God in heaven.
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
~ Revelation 21:8
Fact #2
All Are Guilty
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
~ Romans 3:23
Sure, you may not be a murderer or a thief, but have you ever told a lie? Have you ever been angry with someone for no reason? Jesus compares anger to murder, and lusting after another woman to adultery. No one is guiltless of God's law, and the day of reckoning will come. An eternal God demands an eternal punishment.
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not."
~ Ecclesiastes 7:20
Fact #3
Jesus Gives Hope
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
~ Romans 5:8
Though you broke His law, God provided a payment for your sin debt. That payment was made by His own Son, Jesus Christ. Everyone, no matter their past, can find forgiveness and hope in Him. For your crimes He carried a heavy cross, allowed His own creation to nail His hands and feet, and bled drops of blood that was yours to shed. Three days after His death, He rose as infallible proof that He indeed can conquer sin and death.God offered an innocent, eternal life to take the place of a guilty, eternal soul.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
~ John 3:16-17
Fact #4
You Have a Choice
"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
~ John 3:18
A man named George Wilson was about to die. After being caught robbing a federal train and killing a man in the process, he was condemned and sentenced to execution. Influential friends managed to convince the current U.S. President, Andrew Jackson, to grant a Presidential Pardon. To everyone's surprise, George Wilson refused. A confused Supreme Court therefore decided that "A pardon is a deed, to the validity of which delivery is essential, and delivery is not complete without acceptance. It may then be rejected by the person to whom it is tendered, and if it be rejected, we have discovered no power in a court to force it on him.”
As the Supreme Court would not force the pardon on George Wilson, so God doesn't enforce His forgiveness on anyone. In order to have your record cleared, you must choose to accept the payment. If you would like to choose to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, tell Him right now. You could say something like this:
"God, I admit that I've broken your law and that I'm guilty. But today, I'm choosing to accept Jesus Christ as my payment and my Savior. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that He rose again from the dead. I am asking You to come into my heart and save me right now. Thank you."
